SUMMARY:DIY Baseline Assessment Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Every day\, our dogs give us many clues that can tell us exactly how they feel…but do you know what they’re saying? In this seminar\, we’re going to work our way through a hands-on assessment protocol so that\, as owners\, you can make informed decisions about their conditioning\, care\, and whether you need to work with a resource such as a vet or canine chiropractor to ensure your dog has the best possible quality of life. \n\n6 Working spots are available\, along with 20 auditing spots. There is no formal cost for this workshop\, however we will have a collection on site for the RFDA. Working and auditing participants are encouraged to bring a monetary donation in an amount of their choice\, or non-perishable goods. However\, it is extremely important to me that this seminar is accessible to all – so if you are unable to make a donation\, please come anyway – everyone is welcome. To reserve a working or auditing spot\, please email tara@caninefitnessinnovations.com.\n\nDogs in working spots must be over one year old\, comfortable being touched and handled by their owner\, comfortable laying down on both sides\, and should be comfortable in environments where there are many people and other dogs. This is not an ideal seminar for reactive dogs or dogs who are easily stressed. \nParticipants in working spots are asked to bring:\n1. Measuring tape (thin and flexible – the type used for sewing)\n2. Camera or phone (to take photos)\n3. Working participants will be asked to send Tara a video of their dog walking and trotting approximately 2 weeks before the seminar. Instructions will be sent detailing exactly what I’m looking for.\n4. Dog treats\n5. If your dog is particularly comfortable laying on a specific blanket/mat\, feel free to bring that as well.\n6. If your dog is crate trained\, it’s a good idea to bring a crate because it will allow you to walk around and observe other working dogs. However\, it’s not mandatory for this seminar. \nParticipants in working and auditing spots are asked to bring:\n1. Pen/pencil and paper/notebook \n
